Jäämä on valokuvaprojektini. Tarkennuspiste löytyy kasvikunnasta, elämänpiiristä, josta me ihmisinä saamme elintärkeää happea.
Jäämä lähilukee elämän kiertokulun loppupäätä. Kaikki haurastuu, hajoaa osiin, rypistyy, vääntyy. Kaikesta ei tule museotavaraa, joten päätöksenä on kuolema.
Projektin alkuperäisiä kuvia on alkuluvullinen määrä, 13. Ne ovat syntyneet sisäluonnonvalossa. Kohteina vuosikausia purkittamani tahi pussittamani jämät, vihanneksien ja kasvien osat, kuoret, siemenet tms. syömistäni hedelmistä. Tai sitten jämät syömättöminä ovat tehneet itsestään jäämiä, kuivuneita käppyröitä, joiden muoto/väri on miellyttänyt silmää.
Haluan jäämilläni muistuttaa, että jätetyssä, hylätyssä, poisheitetyssä on piilevää dramatiikkaa, joka kieltämättä on kiehtovaa tarina-alustaa. Mutta, että hylätyn/jäämän osa ei todellisuudessa ole väistämättä helppo.

Dregs
Dregs is my photography project. The point of focus can be found from the plant kingdoms, from the same circles of life, where we human beings receive our essential oxygen from.
Dregs is closely observing the final endings of cycles of life. The point, where everything becomes fragile and starts to fragment, wrinkle and deform. Not everything gets a place from a museum, so as a result there is death.
The original amount of the pictures is 13, as the prime numbers. They have been born in natural light, but indoors. My subjects are a sample of leftovers from different plants, fruits and vegetables I have been consuming during the past years, and some are just original pieces, that have made themselves and presented themselves visually appealing.
By these dregs I want to remind you of the more or less fascinating dramas inside the abandoned and disposed. In reality, though, to be a dreg is not always so easy or pleasant.
